MIKEL Inc. is a small woman-owned business providing Undersea Warfare Solutions to the Department of Defense. They are seeking a Submarine Systems Technical Specialist to support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center by utilizing submarine experience to assist in system testing, troubleshooting, and modernization activities.

Responsibilities

System testing, troubleshooting, and equipment evaluations
Supporting modernization and installation activities
Assisting with fleet introduction and new system rollouts
Running checks, collecting data, and verifying system functionality
Providing fleet-perspective feedback to engineering teams
Supporting pier-side and at-sea test events (short-duration, no deployments)

Required

Qualified in Submarines (SS)
6–12 years of Navy service in one of the following ratings: FT – Fire Control Technician, NAVET – Navigation Electronics Technician, STS – Sonar Technician Submarines, ANAV – Assistant Navigator (Navigation Operations), IT – Information Systems Technician
Strong troubleshooting, maintenance, and system operation skills
Familiarity with shipboard systems, PMS, and technical procedures
U.S. Citizen with the ability to maintain a security clearance
Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance or higher is required at time of hire

Preferred

Experience working with NAVSEA, NUWC, NIWC, IWS, or shipyards
Security+, Network+, or other DoD 8570 certifications (especially for ITs)
OEM, fleet introduction, or advanced equipment training
