Certified Peer Specialist / Program Assistant
Ozark Center is dedicated to providing support for individuals impacted by behavioral health issues. The Certified Peer Specialist is responsible for offering rehabilitation and recovery support services, guiding clients in managing their mental health and daily living skills.

Responsibilities
Provide ongoing emotional support and guide, teach and coach skills for managing mental health issues
Train, coach and support individuals in learning social and daily living skills
Accompany consumers to appointments to provide support, advocacy and encouragement in discussing issues with doctors and therapists
Provide community living skills coaching and teaching to develop independence and self-sufficiency
Assist individuals in accessing public services to include financial, housing, emergency service needs, food, shelter and clothing resources
Assist in accessing support groups in the community
Assist in developing Wellness and Recovery Plans with clients
Assist in learning Illness Management and Recovery skills to become familiar with signs and symptoms of mental illness
Teach stress reduction exercises
Provide co-response as part of Mobile Crisis Response team
Assist with follow-ups by telephone and/or in-person
Certified Peer Specialist shall report to and perform other work-related duties as assigned by the Crisis Services Supervisor
Performs specified administrative tasks as determined by the Assistant Director of Crisis Services and/or Director of Crisis Services
Qualification
Required
Certified Peer Specialist certification
Experience providing supportive rehabilitation and recovery support services to individuals with behavioral health issues
Ability to provide ongoing emotional support and teach skills for managing mental health issues
Experience in training, coaching, and supporting individuals in learning social and daily living skills
Ability to accompany consumers to appointments and provide support, advocacy, and encouragement
Experience in providing community living skills coaching and teaching
Ability to assist individuals in accessing public services including financial, housing, emergency service needs, food, shelter, and clothing resources
Experience in assisting with support groups in the community
Ability to assist in developing Wellness and Recovery Plans with clients
Experience in teaching Illness Management and Recovery skills
Ability to teach stress reduction exercises
Experience in providing co-response as part of a Mobile Crisis Response team

Ability to work under stressful conditions and deal with irate individuals
Normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment
Ability to work irregular hours
