Supervisor, Recreation
NEOGOV is seeking a dynamic and experienced Recreation Supervisor for the City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department. This role is responsible for supervising staff and overseeing operations, programs, and events at the Kyle Community Center, with a focus on senior services and community engagement.

Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations and scheduling of the Kyle Community Center, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the facility
Oversee facility reservations for the Parks and Recreation Department
Supervise and support the Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator, ensuring alignment with department goals and community needs
Plan, coordinate, and implement programs, events, and services tailored to seniors and general community wellness and engagement
Develop program schedules, activity calendars, and service offerings in collaboration with internal teams and external partners
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise seasonal facility staff; conduct regular staff evaluations and provide ongoing development
Ensure proper safety and risk management practices are followed within the facility and during all activities
Monitor facility usage, manage reservations, community rentals, and coordinate routine maintenance schedules or repair needs with the City Facilities Division as necessary
Maintain accurate program and attendance records; prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports on facility use, program performance, budget reports, performance metrics, and community impact
Collaborate with the Parks and Recreation leadership team on budgeting, resource allocation, and program expansion
Serve as a liaison to community groups, service providers, and advisory boards related to senior and therapeutic programming
Stay current with industry best practices in inclusive recreation, aging services, and adaptive programming
Provides ongoing training for staff on facility operations, policies and procedures, and event requirements
Develop and present recommendations for annual event schedules in alignment with department goals and community needs to the recreation manager for City leadership review
Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, sponsors, businesses, and volunteers to enhance event offerings and engagement
Conduct pre- and post-event evaluations, gather community feedback, and implement continuous improvement practices
Monitors inventory, orders supplies, and maintains purchase records within the budget
Attend and oversee events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required
Adhere to administrative directives and procedures, including internal controls
Attending staff, committee, and council meetings and assisting with presentations as needed
Provide support at various departmental programs/activities
Serves as a primary driver of a City vehicle to conduct City business
Assist with the creation of promotional material for programs and events
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree is required
Minimum of three (3) years experience coordinating recreation
Minimum of one (1) year experience in a lead or supervisory capacity
Valid Class C Texas Driver's License
Obtain a First Aid and CPR/AED certification within 6 months of employment
Preferred
A Bachelor's degree in Parks & Recreation Administration, Event Management, Business Administration, Therapeutic Recreation, or Public Administration
Experience working with senior populations and individuals with disabilities
Experience supervising and overseeing operations within recreation facilities
Certified Parks and Recreation Professional Certification (CPRP)
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
