Responsibilities

Review, draft and negotiate complex healthcare partnership and government contract deals as the lead attorney supporting the Commercial Healthcare and Government Contracting functions of the business
Counsel and advise stakeholders on legal issues impacting the business, ensuring alignment, efficiency, and excellence in execution of all healthcare transactions and government contracts
Serve as a strategic thinker who operates to shape company-wide risk strategy while driving key initiatives and applying a solutions-focused approach
Operate as a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves practitioner, comfortable managing complex transactions
Build and refine internal transactional processes, policies, and tools that can scale efficiently with company growth
Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, providing clear, business-oriented judgment and actionable recommendations

Required

8-10 years combined law firm and in-house experience, with at least 4 years of experience as a dedicated transactional healthcare attorney and at least 2 years of government contracting experience
Deep working knowledge of U.S. healthcare regulatory frameworks, including HIPAA/HITECH, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and the Physician Self-Referral Law (Stark), and the ability to apply them pragmatically to business objectives
Exceptional drafting skills, including experience negotiating and preparing sophisticated commercial, clinical and strategic healthcare agreements and government contracts
Experience advising on government contracting matters, including agreements involving federal and state agencies
Proven ability to identify and mitigate regulatory risk while enabling scalable, innovative healthcare business models
Strong judgment and comfort operating as a trusted advisor to senior business stakeholders in a fast-moving environment
Clear, practical communicator who can translate complex legal issues into actionable guidance
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and current active license to practice law in California
Excels at working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
