Responsibilities
Applied Agent Development: Build and deploy applied AI agents specifically tailored for complex workflows in software engineering, data science, and scientific discovery
Build Agent Environments: Architect fast, secure, and performant environments for AI code execution using tools like Kubernetes, gVisor, and Modal
Evaluation & Benchmarking: Design and implement rigorous evaluation frameworks to hillclimb agent performance, reliability, and reasoning capabilities
Inference & Optimization: Optimize LLM inference pipelines and manage fine-tuning workflows to ensure models are scalable and low-latency in production
Research Engineering: Translate experimental research concepts into robust, shippable product features, maintaining high engineering standards throughout the process

Qualification
Required
M.S. or Ph.D. in computer science, machine learning, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
Proven experience building applied AI agents or complex LLM-driven applications, with a focus on tool use, code generation, and long-horizon planning and execution
Deep knowledge of LLM inference, fine-tuning techniques, and the modern AI infrastructure stack
Proficiency with containerization and secure sandboxing technologies (Kubernetes, gVisor) and serverless execution platforms (Modal)
Experience bootstrapping products in fast-paced startup environments; you are comfortable building from scratch with high autonomy
Excellence in both engineering and research communication, with the ability to articulate complex technical challenges to a diverse team
