7FA Gas Turbine Rotor Repair Engineer
MD&A is seeking a shop-facing 7FA Gas Turbine Rotor Repair Engineer to support and drive rotor repair engineering from intake through final release. This role involves converting inspection findings into a controlled repair scope and providing technical support to Operations throughout the repair process.

Responsibilities
Lead or support rotor repair engineering scope from intake through final technical release, including evaluation, repair planning, routing, execution support, and closure documentation
Translate dimensional, NDE, and inspection results into repair scopes, acceptance criteria, and hold points
Select, apply, and refine repair methodologies based on damage mechanism, risk, schedule, and customer requirements (L2 owns final decisions)
Create, revise, and maintain job documentation including work instructions, routings, inspection plans, measurement requirements, and technical reports
Provide real-time technical support on the shop floor; partner with Operations, Machining, Welding, and NDE to remove blockers and keep work moving
Support NCR/MRB dispositions and structured problem-solving, including RCA/CAPA as needed to prevent repeat issues
Participate in customer technical reviews and pre-job meetings; provide onsite/field support when required
Drive lessons learned and standard work to reduce cycle time, rework, and variation
Assist in tooling and process planning, shop growth initiatives, and technician mentorship as required by company goals
Qualification
Required
(L1/L2) B.S. Mechanical Engineering (or related) or equivalent technical experience
(L1) 3+ years in 7FA turbine repair, rotating equipment repair, manufacturing engineering, or shop-facing mechanical engineering
(L2) 5+ years in 7FA turbine/rotor repair engineering or rotating equipment repair with shop execution support
(L1/L2) Ability to read drawings/prints, work with measurement data, and interpret inspection/NDE outputs
(L1/L2) Comfortable being on the shop floor, partnering with Operations/Machining/Welding/NDE, and driving technical items to closure
(L2) Proven ownership of repair methodology decisions and job documentation through final release (not analysis-only)
