Responsibilities

Review, track, and analyze tax‑related claims, ensuring accuracy and completeness of supporting documentation
Interpret and respond to notices from tax agencies (IRS, FTB, CDTFA, EDD) by researching issues and preparing required responses
Reconcile tax claim amounts against financial statements, filings, and internal records to identify discrepancies and recommend resolutions
Coordinate with accounting, legal, and external stakeholders to gather information and support claim resolution efforts
Maintain organized claim files and logs to ensure compliance, audit readiness, and timely follow‑up on open items
Prepare summaries, status updates, and supporting schedules for internal review and distribution planning

Qualification

Required

At least three years of experience in claims or research analysis from banking, tax, or legal industry
Experience supporting tax-related claims
Experience working with tax agency notices and the processes required to resolve tax-related claims or discrepancies
Familiarity with federal and state tax regulations and basic understanding of tax classifications, deadlines, and documentation requirements
Strong analytical skills with the ability to review financial and tax documents and identify inconsistencies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with tax authorities and internal stakeholders
High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management abilities in a deadline-driven environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other documentation or case-management tools
