Business Advisor (Spanish Speaker)
Renaissance is a mission-driven nonprofit CDFI that helps underserved entrepreneurs access resources for success. As a Business Advisor (Spanish Speaker), you will support small business owners in NYC by providing counseling, access to capital, and ongoing guidance to help them thrive.

Responsibilities
Build strong, trust-based relationships with small business owners, community organizations, and referral partners
Provide one-on-one counseling to help clients understand financials, cash flow, and growth strategies
Assist clients in preparing complete loan application packages for REDC underwriting
Manage and monitor a portfolio of small business loans, offering continued guidance and support post-funding
Conduct site visits to better understand client operations and business needs
Lead and facilitate workshops for entrepreneurs on topics like financial literacy, business planning, and growth strategies
Maintain accurate client records in Salesforce and ensure timely follow-ups
Actively participate in outreach events and community engagement to strengthen REDC’s presence in Jackson Heights
Diligently and promptly enter and track all relevant client information in Salesforce
Uphold confidentiality of all client information
Meet expectations for attendance and punctuality
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience in business, finance, or community development
Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken)
2+ years of experience in small business counseling, lending, economic development, or entrepreneurship
Hands-on experience running or supporting a small business (formal or informal)
Strong knowledge of local businesses and community resources in NYC
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with finance/accounting principles is a plus
Strong background in client management and customer service
Commitment to the confidentiality of sensitive materials and information
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Experience working with low-income individuals in under-resourced communities
Proven ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
Proficiency in Salesforce, Google applications, and Microsoft Office Suite (specifically MS Word and Excel)
Willingness to travel within NYC, Long Island and Mid-Hudson Valley
