Responsibilities
Analyze and interpret quantitative data to develop and review monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc exhibits using detailed data sets
Perform data mining and analysis to inform foundational pricing and risk assumptions
Develop accurate premium rates for existing and new products
Extract and compile group specific utilization data to support pricing analysis
Produce Stop Loss rate filings
Participate in the UHC Actuarial Leadership Development Program (ALDP), rotating through Actuarial business areas over a defined period
Qualification
Required
Undergraduate degree
Actively progressing on the actuarial exam track, having passed 4+ actuarial exams
3+ years of actuarial experience (collecting, analyzing, and summarizing qualitative and quantitative data)
Hands-on experience building actuarial models
Beginner or higher level of proficiency with SQL, SAS, and/or VBA for actuarial model development
Advanced or higher level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, calculations, charts, graphs, and data manipulation)
Preferred
Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)
Experience in finance or the healthcare industry
Advanced proficiency in SQL, SAS, and/or VBA
Proven excellent written or oral communication skills
Proven excellent organizational and documentation skills
