Engineering Technician III

The MIL Corporation is seeking an Engineering Technician III to support government clients with hardware and software upgrades at various sites. This role requires a highly adaptable professional who can support extensive domestic and international travel and involves integrating and installing various equipment for Navy shore sites and ships.

Responsibilities

Integrate and install various equipment into racks for Navy shore sites and ships
Inspect equipment such as computers, servers, KVM consoles, etc. to ensure they were not damaged prior to rack integration
Perform power checks on all equipment before rack integration
Terminate wires in place, including MIL-spec connectors, power, cables, Ethernet, coax, and others
Complete system power check once racks are fully integrated
Redline drawings during rack integration and site installation
Review drawings for procurement needs and any metal work that needs to be fabricated (e.g. brackets, shelves, faceplates, and rails)
Perform cable fabrication and other complex technical functions in support of engineering activities
Wire and label all power and network cables in racks
Perform fault isolation and troubleshooting tasks using digital multi-meters and other technical tools as required
Work from schematics, drawings, and verbal instruction
Diagnose equipment and system malfunctions and repair as needed
Support overtime requests, as needed

Required

6+ years of experience performing testing and/or integration of electronics equipment
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Good verbal and written communications abilities
Experience using MS Office products
Must be able to lift items up to National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) limits
Must be able to stand, kneel and/or crouch for extended periods of time
Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding
Must be able to work in high places, as well as small, cramped, or confined spaces
Must maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Must maintain a valid passport
Clearance Required: Secret
US Citizenship: Required
Eligibility for a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance is required

Preferred

IPC-620 and/or J-STD certification(s)
Experience with testing fiber and/or copper
Current Top Secret or TS/SCI security clearance
