Senior Dam Safety Engineer
Southern California Edison (SCE) is committed to the Clean Energy Revolution and is seeking a Senior Dam Safety Engineer to ensure the safety of their dams. The role involves performing field inspections, preparing dam safety reports, and developing maintenance strategies while acting as a subject matter expert on dam safety regulations.

Responsibilities
Oversees engineers performing diagnostics, monitoring and inspecting equipment, and reviewing grid technologies, building relationships to facilitate cross-functional knowledge transfer of related work groups
Leads the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders
Collaborates and leads with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless development, integration and implementation of future technologies and asset performance management strategies
Assists in a variety of engineering and business initiatives and grid strategies, including development of innovative procedures and design recommendations
Provides support for new equipment installation and startup, then leads the hand over processes to the ramp and sustaining phases
Leads junior engineers in investigation of threats on the distribution system infrastructure based on observations and findings
Gathers and correlates basic data using engineering studies and procedures, which may include routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems
Facilitates training and professional development opportunities for engineering team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math field
Seven or more years of experience in engineering within operations, production, construction or maintenance environments
Possess a valid Class C Driver's License
Preferred
Five or more years of experience with Dams and/or Hydropower projects
Experience with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and California Division of Safety of Dams (DSOD) dam safety and inspection regulations
Experience with applicable civil engineering codes, standards and best practices
Experience and ability to independently review and validate design calculations, drawings, specifications and work plans for civil construction projects
Experience and knowledge of dam safety engineering best practices
Professional Engineering License
