Responsibilities
Lead and support complex numerical groundwater modeling efforts, including flow and transport simulations
Apply professional expertise in groundwater hydraulics and hydrology to support project objectives and technical decision‑making
Utilize a range of modeling codes and platforms to develop, calibrate, and refine groundwater models
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior staff, supporting skill development and best practices
Collaborate with clients to understand project needs and clearly communicate modeling approaches and results
Prepare technical documentation and white papers, and contribute to the firm’s Total Knowledge Management initiatives
Review and approve modeling reports, ensuring technical quality and regulatory compliance
Participate in conferences, symposia, and industry events to promote the firm’s groundwater modeling capabilities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Coastal or Chemical Engineering or related discipline
Professional engineering (PE) license
10 years of related experience
Strong proficiency with GIS tools and workflows, using spatial data to support analysis, modeling, and design decisions
Advanced experience with Computer‑Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) tools, including 3D and 4D design environments and model‑based workflows
Solid foundation in engineering design principles, with the ability to apply sound judgment and technical standards to complex projects
Working knowledge of hydraulics appropriate for groundwater and water resources–related technical work
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, for technical documentation, analysis, and reporting
Familiarity with additional technical support tools such as mathematical models, data analysis platforms, or scripting languages used to streamline workflows and support technical analysis
