Electronic Systems Troubleshooting Specialist II (Rail)

Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, and test electronic, electrical, and mechanical assemblies to meet engineering specifications
Interpret and apply assembly drawings, schematics, BOMs, and test procedures
Conduct visual label/hardware checks and perform point‑to‑point continuity verification prior to electrical testing
Operate multimeters, function generators, oscilloscopes, power supplies, wave analyzers, and Bench Test Equipment (BTE)
Perform component‑level PCB soldering and desoldering with discipline and care
Champion safety and 5S—use PPE and maintain a clean, organized area
Use hand and power tools effectively; document findings and outcomes
Partner with the Team Lead and Repair Technicians; report to the Production Supervisor and/or Team Leader

Required

Associate Degree in Electronic Technology or equivalent experience
2–5 years in an electronics repair setting
Expertise in component‑level troubleshooting and strong problem‑solving skills
Proficiency in PCB soldering/desoldering and deep knowledge of electronic components
Strong math foundation and basic computer literacy (Microsoft Suite)
Collaborative, adaptable, and clear in written/oral communication
Comfort working overtime when required

Preferred

IPC-A610, IPC J-STD-001, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 credentials/experience
