Responsibilities
Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D software to create and modify site plans, grading and drainage layouts, utility layouts, and construction documents
Work with Civil Engineer to conduct site analysis, and integrate topographical surveys and geotechnical data, to inform design decisions
Ensure designs comply with local, state and federal regulations and codes
Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects and other team members to develop project specifications and budgets
Communicate with clients to understand their needs, present design options, and address any concerns
Perform quality checks and reviews of own work to ensure accuracy and completeness
Create and maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, calculations, and reports
Provide support during the construction phase, including responding to RFIs, and reviewing shop drawings
Stay updated on library trends and advancements in AutoCAD Civil 3D software and site civil design practices
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a civil designer, with a strong focus on civil site development
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software, with a demonstrated ability to create complex site designs and construction documents
Strong understanding of site development principles, grading, drainage, paving, site constructability, and utility design
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred
A degree or certification in civil engineering, drafting, or related field is advantageous
Knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, DOT, MUTCD, ADAVABA compliance, and permitting processes is a plus
