Responsibilities
Support engineers in research and analyzing of data such as client design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
Review project drawings, standards and specifications for completeness and accuracy
Performs engineering calculations to support design and evaluation tasks
Assists engineers with major equipment and material selection and development of construction specifications
Use various engineering and design software to perform engineering tasks
Ensure that all assigned activities and operations comply with applicable codes, regulations and laws
Assist with the preparation of estimates, cost reports, forecasts, schedules, account codes, budgets and change orders
Coordinate quantity estimates by obtaining and analyzing data on unit labor costs and unit material costs
Updates estimates, schedules, reports, drawings and documents based on revisions and client comments
Assists with preparation of project reports
Conducts quality checks of databases, documents and reports, to verify accuracy of data, information, and calculations
Assists in preparing, maintaining and filing of departmental policies and procedures
Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff and company information
Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be a shareholder of NANA Regional Corporation, Inc., or a direct descendant of a shareholder. In accordance with NANA's Shareholder Preference Hiring Policy, priority will be given to NANA shareholders first, followed by shareholder descendants
Must be 18 years or older
Must be currently enrolled in college or a vocational school full-time and have completed one semester of postsecondary education
College sophomore level or higher with degree declared in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Project Management
Intermediate skillset with MS Word processing software and MS Excel spreadsheet software
Some exposure to computer aided drafting and engineering software preferred
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with employees and supervisor
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of employees, clients and vendors
Must possess a strong team orientation and willingness to assist in any area outside of the normal scope of this position
Preferred
Driver's License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy is preferred
