Responsibilities
Design, build, and deploy Python‑based machine‑learning models—including propensity, ranking, uplift, and optimization models—used within the NBA Decision Engine
Operationalize ML models by serving them through low‑latency APIs and integrating them with feature stores, streaming pipelines (e.g., Kafka), and decisioning services
Implement MLOps best practices such as model versioning, monitoring, automated retraining, and performance tracking in production environments
Ensure model reliability, explainability, bias detection, and regulatory guardrails for safe deployment in highly governed environments
Collaborate closely with data engineers, rules engineers, and backend developers to embed ML solutions into scalable, observable, and resilient production workflows
Optimize end‑to‑end ML performance by improving feature pipelines, inference efficiency, monitoring dashboards, and model observability
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related quantitative field
10+ years of hands‑on experience designing, deploying, and operationalizing machine‑learning models at scale
Strong proficiency in Python‑based ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn) and MLOps practices such as model monitoring, versioning, and automated retraining
Proven ability to integrate ML models with low‑latency APIs, streaming pipelines (e.g., Kafka), feature stores, and production decisioning systems
