Responsibilities
Demonstrated experience in the analysis of recommended changes and in determining the impact on system readiness and user functionality
Performs high level engineering support on Navy surface ship combat systems requiring comprehensive knowledge and training on specialty systems
Considered technically competent on specialty systems. Recommends changes in technical application
Develops and applies advanced methods in the investigation and finds solutions of difficult military system design requirements and problems
Plans, conducts, and directs projects including coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical staff in the performance of assigned tasks
Evaluates system capabilities. Reviews completion of work including system enhancements
Position requires comprehensive knowledge to resolve complex problems and provide solutions
Full knowledge of industry practices. Ability to lead and train others
Ability to communicate technical information in an understanding manner
Qualification
Required
Must have a High School Diploma and 8 years' experience in the design operation and/or maintenance of complex U.S. Navy Surface Combat Systems
Must have experience in the analysis of recommended changes and in determining the impact on system readiness and user functionality
Must have experience in reading design documents, evaluating high level interface block diagrams, evaluating commercial equipment, and part task trainer emulations
Must have an Active Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance
25% travel required
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
Communicating with others to exchange information and repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
Preferred
Recent and relevant U.S. Navy shipboard experience with current surface combat systems
Navy Instructor experience and Master Training Specialist (MTS)
Qualified TAO, AAWC, and/or CSC
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
