Responsibilities

Provide day and evening reception and administrative support at the Luray-Page County Center’s Welcome Desk to ensure smooth office operations
Greet visitors, answer phones, assist with events, and support faculty needs
Use the Student Information System (SIS) to manage enrollment functions, including resolving admissions holds and processing student data changes
Serve as a resource for new students by guiding them through enrollment steps and connecting them to advising, financial aid, and other services
Collaborate with Student Services collegewide, secure classrooms, and lock the building on scheduled evenings

Required

Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing in a positive, clear, concise method to a diverse customer population
Ability to prioritize and coordinate workflow independently, in such a way as to ensure the timely completion of multiple projects and responsibilities, while flexibly navigating frequent interruptions
Ability to be decisive in a fast-paced workflow
Ability to assess and interpret the situational needs of the student, staff, and/or faculty member in order to best determine the appropriate course of action
Exercise integrity and confidentiality when working with student records and information
Student-centered focus and experience working with a diverse population
Knowledge of office practices, techniques, and technology

Preferred

Higher Education experience, preferably with a focus in Admissions, Advising, Financial Aid or Records preferred
Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish, both verbally and in writing, or demonstrated capacity and willingness to acquire proficiency to meet the needs of the position preferred
Experience in a dynamic workplace that yields high-productivity and engagement preferred
Proven subject matter knowledge, which may be evidenced by training, experience, and/or credentials preferred
