Responsibilities
Lead the overall effectiveness, impact, and evolution of Xcode's Quality Engineering organization
Guide a team of experienced engineers in day-to-day execution and longer-term transformation of quality work planning and performance
Partner closely with engineering leaders to identify quality priorities and investment opportunities
Rethink existing practices, enhance automation strategies, and simplify or retire ineffective work
Assess complex situations and balance competing priorities to optimize for long-term outcomes
Communicate effectively with team members, peers, and senior leadership
Qualification
Required
Significant experience leading Quality Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical teams
Demonstrated success leading teams through meaningful change
Strong judgment and decision-making skills in the face of competing constraints
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain tradeoffs and rationale
Experience operating in complex, cross-team environments
Solid understanding of modern software development workflows and quality practices
Demonstrated ability to grow, mentor, and develop senior quality engineering leaders
Preferred
Experience leading multi-disciplinary organizations (e.g. quality, operations, integrations)
Track record of improving effectiveness through automation, tooling, or process redesign
Experience partnering closely with senior engineering and product leadership
Comfort representing an organization in high-stakes discussions and decision forums
Technical background that enables credible engagement with senior engineers
