GIS Analyst - LiDAR - DoD SkillBridge Members Only
WGI is a leading consulting firm seeking a GIS Analyst - LiDAR for DOD SkillBridge Transitioning Service Members within their Geospatial Division. The role focuses on the collection, processing, and analysis of data from various remote sensing systems, ensuring data accuracy and quality.
Civil Engineering
Responsibilities
Perform setup, collection, processing and QA of various geospatial sensor derived data (i.e. LiDAR, aerial imagery)
Troubleshoot and solve routine LiDAR data processing issues
Troubleshoot and solve routine LiDAR collection equipment issues including GNSS systems and IMUs
Develop efficient workflows for training new associates
Help setup data management strategies to ensure proper infrastructure and data policies are in place to handle active data storage and archiving
Have strong knowledge of GIS concepts related to coordinate systems and projections
Adhere to safety and information security policy
Out of town/state travel will be required; meal per diem and lodging will be provided
Duties may require overtime by performing work after normal working hours, late night hours, and weekends as needed
Work as a team member as well as independently
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associates degree required
Must have the desire to learn new software, hardware and methodologies while assisting the Geospatial department to operate at maximum efficiency
Ability to understand 3D surface modeling and 3D visualization concepts
Preferred
Bachelors degree preferred
Most work well with others, be team oriented, helpful and a good problem solver
Experience with DOT specifications and deliverables
