Mechanical Project Manager
The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to effectively manage facility mechanical and Building Automation Controls projects for Campus Operations. Responsibilities
Provide Project Mangement for various MCW infrastructural systems with an emphasis on HVAC, Building Automation Controls and plumbing. Encourage that projects meet short and long term goals of MCW
Liaise with Facilities mechanical and electrical staff. Manage Facilities capital improvement and expense projects. Ensure the Facilities Basis of Design (BOD) and Specification documents are up to date and adhered to from design through completion
Work collaboratively with the Planning, Design, and Construction team. Consult as needed to ensure that existing building systems can support new building renovations by identifying system capacity and constraints
Manage projects through the use of the FAMIS Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Document and track all capital, and non capital projects, inception through completion. Be diligent in tracking project progress. Promptly close out and bill all completed work
Review proposals for building project alterations and renovations via the RFP process. Evaluate best practices, new technology, and trends in the industry to determine applicability to MCW
Attend regularly scheduled project meetings and provide project updates
Develop project scope to include sustainability goals
Interpret and ensure compliance with all city, state and federal regulations concerning environmental protection, fire and electrical underwriter codes, safety, cross-connection and pressure vessel regulations and other codes which may apply; responsible for a program of regular inspection of facilities, equipment and refrigeration and hazard waste removal
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years servicing HVAC, Building Automation and Fire Protection systems in a healthcare environment OR Associate's degree with 12+ years servicing HVAC, Building Automation and Fire Protection systems in a healthcare environment
Preferred
3-5 years of P.M. experience in a healthcare environment, supervisory experience
Experience supervising or leading skilled trades or maintenance staff
General knowledge of maintenance requirements, code requirements, inspections/testing, and regulations related to building systems (any combination helpful; not all required), including: Life Safety Systems: fire alarms, fire suppression, Mechanical Systems: chillers, cooling towers, HVAC air and hot water systems, steam systems, lab mechanical systems, pressure vessels, USTs, backflow prevention, vacuum systems, water treatment systems, elevators, Building Automation Systems (BAS): system monitoring, troubleshooting, optimization, integration with HVAC and facility controls, Electrical Systems: emergency generators, automatic transfer switches, UPS, power distribution, lighting controls, data centers, Facility Utilities: chilled water systems, domestic water, RO systems, compressed air, vacuum
Experience managing contractors, inspections, or technically complex projects
