Responsibilities
Senior Systems Ownership: 5+ years of experience in Supplier Quality or Manufacturing Engineering, with a specific focus on Integrated Flight Control Systems (FCS), Environmental Control Systems (ECS), and high-complexity avionics suites
Electronics & Harness Credibility: Deep technical knowledge of IPC-620 (Wire Harness) and IPC-A-610 (PCB/PCBA) standards. You can walk a supplier’s floor and identify risks in automated wire processing, crimp integrity, and soldering of flight-critical components
Functional Testing Mastery: Proven ability to troubleshoot "box-level" issues on-site, from Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) to complex Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) and functional bench testing
APQP for Systems: Strong command of AS9145 (APQP/PPAP). You know how to ensure a supplier’s "Black Box" meets all requirements through robust Design Verification and Process Validation
Technical Bridge-Building: Ability to act as the primary link between Design Engineering and the supply base, ensuring that Low Voltage (LV) requirements and avionics integration needs are clearly communicated and verified
Desired Experience: Avionics & Flight Deck: Experience managing suppliers for cockpit displays, LRUs (Line Replaceable Units), and flight-critical sensors
System Integration: Familiarity with the installation and testing of Environmental Control Systems (ECS), including ducting, sensors, and thermal management hardware
Certification Pedigree: Previous experience supporting FAA/EASA Type Certification (TC), specifically regarding DO-178C (Software) or DO-254 (Hardware) quality oversight
Harness Scaling: Expertise in evaluating supplier capacity for complex wire harness manufacturing, including the transition from manual builds to automated testing/form-boarding at rate
Digital Traceability: Experience using PLM and ERP systems to manage complex BOMs (Bill of Materials) and ensure serial-number-level traceability across the electronics supply chain
