Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies for all of the company’s purchasing requirements, including distribution center’s packaging supplies (e.g. polymailers, product packing, etc), apparel-related trim sourcing (labels, hangtags, packaging), material handling equipment (e.g. forklifts, conveyor systems), racking, and safety gear
Identify, evaluate, and qualify new global suppliers for the company’s purchasing needs, including distribution and promotional items
Manage and negotiate contracts with all vendors to secure favorable pricing, quality, and delivery terms
Monitor supplier performance using key metrics to ensure quality, reliability and cost-effectiveness
Manage the budget for company-wide procurement activities
Conduct regular spend analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies
Ensure all purchasing decisions align with budget constraints and financial goals
Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support for day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives
Foster a culture of excellence and collaboration within the procurement team and with cross-functional partners
Work closely with the operations team to ensure the distribution center has the necessary resources to run smoothly and efficiently
Collaborate with marketing, design, and brand teams to understand their promotional needs and translate them into effective sourcing plans
Ensure all procurement activities meet brand standards and marketing timelines
Partner with business partners to ensure corporate supplies are sourced appropriately and effectively
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards
Manage risk by anticipating potential supply chain disruptions and developing contingency plans
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is required
A minimum of +10 years of experience in procurement, with significant experience in a leadership role
Proven experience at an apparel / e-commerce company that has a distribution or logistics component
Prior experience in direct production and sourcing is beneficial
Experience with promotional or marketing procurement is required (marketing materials, marketing packages, etc.)
Demonstrable success in strategic sourcing, negotiation, and vendor management
Proven track record of strategic sourcing across diverse categories such as packaging, trims, equipment, and marketing materials
Demonstrated success managing domestic and global supplier networks, including contract negotiation and performance management
Experience managing procurement budgets and implementing cost savings initiatives
Background working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with competing priorities
Exceptional negotiation and communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
In-depth knowledge of both logistics and marketing supply chains
Proficiency with ERP and procurement software
Excellent leadership, project management, and relationship-building skills
Scrappy, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial culture
Preferred
A master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) are highly desirable
