Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive quality assurance plans and test strategies for assembled battery packs, covering all stages of the manufacturing process
Design and perform various types of testing, including functional, performance, durability, safety, thermal management, electrical characteristic, and environmental testing, to validate battery pack integrity and performance
Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards and regulations such as IATF 16949, ISO 26262 (functional safety), UN 38.3, UL, SAE standards, and other regional automotive and battery safety requirements
Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to define in-process quality gates, inspection points, and end-of-line (EOL) testing requirements for battery pack assembly
Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for manufacturing test equipment, including Battery Management System (BMS) software validation, cell/module characterization, and pack-level testing
Analyze test data, manufacturing process data, and field performance data to identify trends, potential failure modes, and root causes of defects in battery packs
Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools to monitor manufacturing processes and ensure product consistency
Work closely with design, product development, and supplier quality teams to provide feedback on battery pack design for manufacturability, testability, and reliability
Participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plan development, and other quality planning activities for new battery pack programs and process changes
Manage non-conformance reports, initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and verify the effectiveness of implemented solutions
Contribute to the continuous improvement of SQA processes, methodologies, and tools within the battery plant
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in battery technology, manufacturing techniques, and quality assurance practices

Required

Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, Materials science, chemical engineering, or a related technical field
Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in a Quality Assurance or SQA role within a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive, battery, or power electronics

Preferred

Experience with specific battery cell chemistries and formats relevant to the company's products
Certifications in quality assurance (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer - CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt)
Knowledge of simulation tools for battery performance or thermal management
Experience with supplier quality management for battery components
Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts and smart manufacturing in a battery plant
