Responsibilities
Partner with the Creative Director to shape and execute the overall creative vision for the contemporary brands
Establish seasonal design direction across RTW, sportswear, and dresses, ensuring alignment with brand DNA and market positioning
Ensure consistent aesthetic, quality, and storytelling across all categories and collections
Elevate brand identity through thoughtful design innovation, trend relevance, and cohesive assortment building
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of 7–8 designers across senior, mid-level, and associate roles
Set clear creative expectations, provide constructive feedback, and support professional growth at all levels
Foster a collaborative, high-performing design culture that encourages creativity, accountability, and excellence
Partner with Creative Director on talent development, succession planning, and team structure
Oversee end-to-end design development, from concept and sketch through sample review and final approvals
Ensure design intent is executed with integrity while balancing cost, margin, and production realities
Review and approve sketches, CADs, fabrics, colors, prints, and trims to maintain brand consistency
Partner closely with Technical Design to ensure fit, construction, and quality standards are met
Lead trend research, market analysis, and competitive shopping to inform seasonal strategy
Guide color, fabric, and print direction with a strong understanding of the contemporary customer
Identify innovation opportunities in silhouette, fabrication, and category expansion
Work closely with Merchandising, Product Development, Technical Design, Sourcing, and Sales to ensure cohesive execution
Partner with cross-functional leaders to align design vision with business strategy, delivery timelines, and financial targets
Present seasonal concepts and collections to executive leadership and key stakeholders
Oversee design calendars and milestones to ensure on-time delivery of seasonal collections
Support scalable design processes and best practices to enhance efficiency across the team
Ensure organized documentation and clear communication throughout the design lifecycle
Qualification
Required
8–12+ years of experience in fashion design, with leadership experience in contemporary RTW
Strong background in RTW, sportswear, and dresses with proven commercial success
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire large, multi-level design teams
Exceptional creative vision paired with strong business acumen
Deep understanding of trend forecasting, fabric development, and garment construction
Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
Proficiency in design tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and presentation software
