AI Platform Engineer
The University of Nebraska at Omaha is seeking an AI Platform Engineer to join their newly established AI collaborative facility. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining an AI platform that integrates foundational models and supports scalable AI solutions while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on AI platform best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence or a related field
Experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining AI infrastructure
Expertise in foundational models (GPT, BERT, etc.) and their customization
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with MLOps tools and frameworks (TensorFlow Serving, MLflow, etc.)
Understanding of distributed systems and high-performance computing
Familiarity with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and multi-modal AI
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (especially AWS and/or Azure) and their security features
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment
Preferred
Master's degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence or a related field
2+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with a focus on LLMs and AI platform development
Experience with enterprise-scale AI applications and model lifecycle management
Knowledge of ethical AI principles and regulatory compliance in AI deployments
Contributions to open-source AI projects or publications in relevant fields
