Human Resources Manager
Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area is a long-standing civil rights organization defending the rights of immigrants and historically vulnerable communities. They are seeking an experienced HR Manager to handle full HR functions and manage law clerk, internship, and volunteer programs.

Responsibilities
Coordinate payroll; ensure accurate withholdings, benefits deductions, bonuses, and adjustments; submit accurate reports to external vendors; maintain payroll records
Manage annual and off-cycle compensation changes, including staff communications and HRIS updates
Administer benefits and retirement plans in coordination with brokers
Lead open enrollment and benefits renewals; recommend plan changes as needed
Ensure staff are informed of benefits and updates
Maintain complete and accurate personnel files and HRIS records
Serve as first point of contact for HR policy questions and complex situations
Coordinate approved leaves
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including postings, audits, and reporting
Own development, updates, and rollout of HR policies and annual employee handbook
Help evaluate and recommend HR-related vendors and systems
Partnering with hiring managers on role definition and recruitment strategy
Posting jobs, managing candidate communications, scheduling interviews, and coordinating evaluations
Preparing and issuing offer packets
Manage onboarding processes. Conduct new hire orientations and benefits enrollment
Manage offboarding. Conduct exit interviews, report trends to leadership
Build emerging volunteer and undergraduate programs
Manage long-standing law clerk program
Lead recruitment, placement, orientation, and evaluation for all programs
Maintain all records
Lead selection and management of volunteer tracking systems
Lead employee engagement committee. Help plan events and manage budget
Lead performance management cycle, including annual review process
Assist Executive Director with employee relations issues, as needed
Other duties as assigned by COO or Executive Director
Qualification
Required
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
At least five years' experience in a human resources role in a fast-paced organization
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to take initiative on projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Demonstrated commitment to LCCRSF's mission
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Foundational knowledge of employment laws and regulations
Preferred
Experience with BambooHR or similar HR management system
SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR
