Information Technology Technical Project Lead

Valley Presbyterian Hospital is seeking an IT Technical Project Lead responsible for managing and coordinating third-party applications and interfaces as part of the Meditech Expanse Implementation. The role involves using standard project management methodologies to ensure project timelines and budgets are met while facilitating upgrades and installations.

Responsibilities

Leads planning and implementation of projects
Provides system and business analysis services for project scoping and requirements definition
Completes technical studies and prepares cost estimates
Facilitate project initiation and planning workshops
Produces regular project status reports
Determines project schedule by studying project plans and specifications, calculating time requirements and sequencing project steps
Develops project plans and schedules identifying clear dependencies among tasks and milestones
Assembles and manages project teams in a matrix environment
Tracks tasks, milestones and deliverables
Manage project budgets
Escalates issues and risks to appropriate stakeholders and sponsors
Build consensus and documents project decisions among core team and stakeholders
Tracks and manages project risks, assumptions, issues, and definitions (RAID)
Serves as project intake coordinator for tracking and prioritization of projects
Facilitates and documents project prioritization committee meetings
Coordinates resource utilization between project teams and resource owners within IT and across multiple departments
Confirms relevant product performance through user acceptance testing, planning and coordination
Provides consultative advice to stakeholders to include the architecting of IT solutions, recommendations for software, hardware and best practice
Attend project team meetings and regularly scheduled IT change control approval meetings
Performs special duties, tasks, or projects as required

Required

Minimum 8-10 years' previous IT project management experience, or proven related working experience in IT healthcare
Ability to perform requirements analysis
Highly proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams and Project and other Project Management tools
Active listener with Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong Organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
Ability to identify risks and implement solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis
Previous experience with EMR and other application/system integrations in healthcare
Strong understanding of hardware systems and application interfaces (HL7, ADT, DICOM, GUI...)
Knowledge of healthcare-based IT architecture and network infrastructure
Excellent stakeholder and vendor management skills
Ability to interact at all levels of management and leadership
Understanding and compliance with hospital-based HIPAA, and HCAI standards
Privacy and cybersecurity knowledge
Ability to lead cross-functional teams through active collaboration
Ability to drive project through challenges by making collaborative and pro-active decisions during times of crisis
Ability to anticipate change and adapt and adjust to the situation at hand
Eager to learn and dig deep into the technical aspects of Meditech Expanse with a focus on details
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration or equivalent (4 years +) work experience
Must successfully complete and maintain LA City Fire Card certification at the time of hire or within the first 30 days of employment
