Responsibilities
Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences
Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals
Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts
Conducts quality review of materials
Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards
Develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation
Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment
Serves as consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives
Qualification
Required
Must have a minimum of 8 Years with Bachelors OR 6 Years with Masters OR 12 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
Preferred
Previous IETM authoring and development experience
Familiar with unmanned aircraft & ground segment systems such as Interim COMSEC Solutions (ICS) are highly desirable
Familiarity with development processes associated with Time Compliant Technical Orders (TCTO's)
Lead experience using AGILE & JIRA best practices
General understanding of S1000D, SGML or XML authoring software, common source database, and technical publications development processes
