Ursus, Inc. is seeking a talented and highly motivated Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) for a contract position. The ideal candidate will work with Developers, Product Managers, and other Quality Engineers to ensure the proper operation of the production environment by identifying use cases, creating test cases, executing tests, and reporting results.

Responsibilities

Managing a simple spreadsheet-based schedule (what feature am I working on, or next feature being worked on)
Involve engagement with the product manager to understand the behavior they are expecting with the feature
Work with the engineering team to test that the behavior delivered is meeting the needs of what is specified
Helping with testing automation: test and retest features – skills in terms of automating and making it more efficient
Searching for curiosity on how to make things better

Qualification

Required

Basic ability to do general QA skill set (create a test plan, communication ability to interact with engineering/product manager)
Test planning/execution
Script/limited program ability
BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
4+ years industry experience testing software, including website applications
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
Proficiency working in a Linux/Unix environment
Experience with QA process and Software Development Life Cycle

Preferred

Prior experience with test automation or integration testing
Experience with HTML, JavaScript, Java, and SQL is desired, but not required
Experience with Selenium highly desired
