Responsibilities
Assist with monthly and year-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
Maintain and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and subledgers under supervision
Support investment, cash, and balance sheet reconciliations as assigned
Assist with audit preparation, including gathering documentation and preparing audit schedules
Perform routine account analysis and support variance explanations
Assist with the preparation of internal financial reports and supporting schedules
Follow established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Advancement, Financial Aid, Operations) to support accurate fund tracking and transaction processing
Participate in financial system usage, data cleanup, and process improvements as directed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience
Working knowledge of GAAP; exposure to nonprofit or fund accounting preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ability to manage and analyze large data sets
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes
Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize assigned tasks
Preferred
Experience in higher education or nonprofit organizations
Prior exposure to audit processes or external auditors
