Responsibilities
Coordinate with field crews, supervision, and project managers to gather billing inputs
Review and assemble billing-ready job packets (work orders, unit sheets, crew reports, materials, photos, approvals)
Ensure documentation meets contract and utility requirements before submission
Partner with Accounts Receivable to submit billing packages through client billing portals
Track billing status, rejections, and resubmittals and help resolve issues
Support job closeout and reduction of unbilled work backlog
Reviewing completed distribution work orders from the prior day or week
Following up with field supervision to clarify missing units, quantities, or documentation
Checking job packets for completeness before handoff to Accounts Receivable
Coordinating with AR on submissions, rejections, or resubmittals through client portals
Updating billing trackers to show what’s ready, what’s pending, and what needs attention
Communicating with project managers and Operations Leaders on billing status and closeout priorities
Helping standardize documentation so field teams know exactly what’s needed next time
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience in utility construction billing support, project controls, or operations support
Strong understanding of Distribution construction work (overhead and/or underground)
Experience with unit-based or work-order-based billing and job packets
Ability to work directly with field teams and project managers
Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Proficiency with Excel and document management systems
Experience handling high-volume invoice processing
Preferred
Experience supporting Transmission or Substation projects
Experience with utility billing portals (e.g., ASUS or similar)
Prior experience working with investor-owned utilities (Oncor or similar)
Background in project controls or construction operations support
