Responsibilities

Post stories to fox40.com, FOX40 social media sites and FOX40 CTV Apps
Monitor police and emergency scanners and electronic/printed sources for news and disseminate the information to appropriate newsroom personnel
Coordinate and dispatch reporters and photographers to execute news coverage
Conduct beat calls and contact public information officers to gather information
Must be willing and able to work all shifts, including nights and weekends
Answer calls from viewers and develop possible story ideas
The candidate must be willing and able to work all shifts, including nights and weekends, and holidays

Qualification

Required

Degree in journalism; daily newspaper or news site experience required; live, working web samples and/or print pages preferred
Proficiency in Associated Press style
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of design for content management systems, usability and accessibility practice and customer focus are essential
