Responsibilities
Supervise and execute physical design of power substations ranging from 34.5 kV to 765 kV
Serve as the local Texas liaison for customers and coordinate closely with corporate headquarters
Review full physical design packages for quality, standards compliance, and constructability
Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers
Perform and oversee physical substation design with a high level of accuracy and quality
Review and approve design deliverables created by team members
Lead and mentor junior engineers and designers
Act as a point of contact for local clients while coordinating with corporate engineering teams
Use Bentley MicroStation to develop and review design deliverables
Manage schedules, budgets, and client expectations
Qualification
Required
BSEE or BSME from an ABET-accredited university
6–12+ years of applicable substation physical design experience
Strong working knowledge of U.S. power utility substation standards
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to lead and influence others without needing formal people-management experience
Experience with Bentley MicroStation
Preferred
Candidates with 8–14 years of experience are strongly preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license
