Under direct supervision, performs high complexity analysis and procedures specific to the laboratory (biochemical, molecular, cytogenetic); operates and maintains laboratory equipment needed to perform daily duties; increase productivity and maintain proficiency in the wet lab and analysis sections; Continue to gain knowledge appropriate to laboratory (biochemical, molecular, cytogenetic); adhere to laboratory policies for safety, conduct, and performance; participate in continuing education

Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent laboratory record keeping and maintenance skills
General knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Knowledge of general laboratory and bloodborne pathogens safety practices
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or a related field
One (1) year laboratory experience or science related coursework
LA State licensed or eligible
Minimum one (1) year laboratory experience or science related coursework
ASCP certification of other equivalent board certification or eligible
