Responsibilities

Working with the Executive Team on the creation and implementation of a strategic, integrated, communications, recruitment and enrollment program designed to build and strengthen the organization’s role and reputation as a leader and authoritative voice in its field along with recruitment and enrollment of young adults from diverse backgrounds
Exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, with or without reasonable accommodation
Oversee and work with staff and programs located throughout the state of California and must be able to effectively supervise, collaborate, and engage with geographically dispersed teams
Accommodate moderate to intensive statewide travel as required
Work independently with a high degree of initiative, discretion, and sound judgment in a fast-paced, high-visibility executive environment
Handle sensitive and confidential information, communicate professionally with diverse stakeholders, and collaborate effectively as a member of the Executive Management Team

Preferred

Demonstrated experience serving on an executive leadership team with responsibility for enterprise-level strategy, decision-making, and organizational outcomes
Extensive experience leading data-driven recruitment and enrollment operations at scale for large government or public programs, including oversight of recruitment pipelines involving thousands of prospective candidates annually and enrollment processes managing 6,000 or more applications per year
Executive-level oversight and effective use of digital tools such as customer relationship management systems (e.g. Salesforce), data dashboards, social media platforms, and digital marketing technologies to support recruitment and communications strategies
Demonstrated senior or executive-level experience leading strategic communications within a government or public-sector environment, including executive messaging, media relations, crisis communications, and advising senior leadership
Demonstrated executive-level experience stewarding and advancing an organizational brand, including brand strategy, messaging consistency, public perception, and reputation management within a government or public-sector context
Demonstrated experience leading the strategy, design, and execution of high-impact, large-scale events that support recruitment, public engagement, and organizational visibility, including oversight of staff, vendors, and logistics
Demonstrated experience integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into recruitment, communications, and organizational practices
Proven ability to manage sensitive issues, reputational risk, and public-facing challenges with sound judgment and professionalism in a government environment
