Senior Fabrication Process Engineer

They are seeking a Senior Fabrication Process Engineer who will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process of fabricated products, ensuring quality control, and optimizing production efficiency.

Responsibilities
Analyzing engineering drawings and blueprints to understand product specifications and ensure they meet structural and functional requirements
Developing detailed fabrication plans to optimize production efficiency
Knowledge/background in various fabrication equipment like fiber optic lasers, press brakes, and CNC tube processing equipment
Inspecting fabricated parts to identify defects, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and implementing corrective actions when necessary
Estimating part/material costs, optimizing production processes to minimize waste, and managing project timelines
Collaborating with design engineers to ensure the manufacturability of parts
Creating and maintaining fabrication documentation around preventive maintenance of equipment
Optimizing fabrication processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Troubleshooting and resolving fabrication-related issues
Implementing fabrication equipment and tooling as required
Training fabrication operators as required on equipment and new part introduction
Recommending design approaches considering customer specifications, product or component performance requirements, and fabrication processes
Applying methods to determine fabrication standards
Recommending methods to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost within the fabrication setting
Working with in-house Maintenance to establish and uphold Preventive Maintenance practices
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a fabrication environment
Background in laser cutting and sheet metal forming practices
Proficiency in design and drafting software such as: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Inventor
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Experience with CNC programming and operation
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and or Six Sigma
Experience in new product development teams
Experience in justification, purchasing, and qualifying capital equipment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated with organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred
Detailed ERP system knowledge is preferred
