Responsibilities

Responsible for coordination of administrative support functions for a range of grant funded projects
Evaluate and provide recommendations related to operational and procedural matters and work procedures
Coordinate and execute large scale projects with broad, visible impact which involve overseeing coordination with other departments and research partners outside of SSU
Identify needs, plan projects, coordinate and delegate work and see a project through initiation, execution, coordination, implementation and evaluation
Perform a variety of administrative tasks in the day-to-day operations of the department office
Serve as a central resource person to students, faculty, and staff, and the community

Required

This position requires a high school degree or technical/vocational program degree
a minimum of two to three years administrative work experience involving program administration and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development of improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs
Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) is required
Must be willing and able to learn technical software as needed
be proficient in navigating the internet and in the daily use of e-mail

Preferred

Previous experience in a fast-paced and complex academic office preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
Knowledge of Google Suite and People Soft preferred
Experience as well as skills in website development and desktop publishing is desired
