Research Scientist Senior/KTC
The University of Kentucky's Kentucky Transportation Center (KTC) is seeking a Research Scientist Senior to engage in multidisciplinary transportation research. The role focuses on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and involves designing research methodologies, leading data collection and analysis, and communicating findings to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Collaborating with senior staff to develop research designs and select appropriate methodologies for funded projects and grant proposals
Leading information collection efforts through data acquisition, interviews, and surveys
Leading complex data analysis efforts and interpreting analytical results in relation to project objectives and outcomes
Evaluating existing and emerging technologies for feasibility and adoption
Managing the delivery and content of periodic project progress reports
Facilitating coordination between KTC, study advisory committees, and external clients to keep projects on track
Communicating research findings to clients through meetings or other collaborative efforts
Serving as a primary author on technical reports, grant proposals, and supporting documentation through streamlined and cohesive report narratives
Presenting research results to government agencies, industry partners, and other vested stakeholders at professional conferences
And otherwise assisting senior research staff and leadership in advancing research efforts to develop innovative solutions to the client’s research needs

Sitting at computer workstation for extended periods; repetitive motion; job-related travel; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50lbs
Providing technical assist/training or other related experience with governmental organizations
Communication competency, computer skills for presentation development, interpersonal skills
Required is a Writing Sample which can be accessed in the Applicant Documents Section of the application under Writing Sample
Preferred
Master's Degree and three years experience
