Responsibilities

Participates in and assists with Engineering Studies, Modification or New Design Projects, Operations and Maintenance Support - Performance of a variety of specific tasks within each of the primary responsibility areas to gain and demonstrate a general understanding of the process involved, a general understanding of the electric utility industry, the ability to manage personal performance, a general understanding of economic/accounting principles, and an ability to complete single task assignments with supervision, prepare design calculations, obtain field data, utilize drawings, develop design requirements, prepare design calculations, and develop drawings and material lists
Research and develop work packages to install, configure, and enhance the District's Telecommunications networks. Work may include data networking (routers/switches/firewalls), transport equipment (fiber optics/point-to-point wireless), substation communications needs, and/or backup battery systems. Learn about and develop further knowledge in the operations, maintenance, and monitoring needs of the networks the District supports

Required

The student must be working toward an associate or bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
The intern must be enrolled in an accredited two-year or four-year college/university carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours with a minimum GPA of 3.0
The intern must have completed a minimum of 1 year of college credit
The internship/training must be in the student's field of study
