Responsibilities

Supervises the Digital Pathology Operations team, including training, mentorship, performance management, and goal setting
Partners with Management to resolve interpersonal conflicts when they arise
Schedules employee resources to ensure appropriate coverage and optimize case turn-around-time
Leads team member one-on-ones and monthly team meetings
Ensures all department hardware and software functions correctly and works with internal stakeholders and external vendors to achieve a resolution when necessary
Serves as point-of-contact for external vendors
Serves as point-of-contact for all scanning requests from various departments across the business
Assists in streamlining existing Digital Pathology processes and works cross-functionally to implement new processes across the clinical laboratory
Ensures department metrics are gathered, analyzed, and reported concerning the status of department's operations
Supports compliance to all applicable regulatory and standard requirements (CLIA, NYS, CAP, ISO, etc.)
Maintains confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations
Plays an active role in department recruitment efforts, including reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, and making hiring decisions
Promotes a positive work environment by collaboration, cooperation, sharing of information, and mutual teamwork
Accepts other duties as assigned

Required

B.S. degree in a scientific discipline (or equivalent work experience)
1+ years of experiences with Digital Pathology systems in a CLIA, NYS, CAP, or ISO regulated environment

Preferred

Experience with whole-slide imaging in support of histopathology data collection and analysis
Familiarity with histology, IHC using auto-stainers and bright field microscopy
Knowledge of laboratory safety and quality control procedures and regulations
