Responsibilities
Support and management of day to day accounting operations
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting by preparing and reviewing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Lead the entire process from accounting Operations to ERP-based accounting
Ensure all accounting records align with our internal financial classification, accounting policies, and primarily with USGAAP and Local GAAP principles
Work with accountants and advisors to properly align tax strategies in the accounting function
Optimize treasury, billing, and accounting processes. Guarantee integrity and efficiency in all financial procedures
Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and ensure the company's practices align with industry best practices
Evaluate and enhance financial systems and technologies to improve efficiency and accuracy
Identify and assess accounting risks, and propose and implement risk mitigation strategies
Qualification
Required
5+ years of progressive experience in financial accounting, preferably in tech / SaaS / fintech startups
Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, including hands-on experience with: month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals
Experience supporting LATAM operations, including at least two of the following countries: Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina
Proven experience managing monthly and quarterly close processes
Experience coordinating with external accountants, advisors, and audit firms
Solid understanding of multi-currency environments, including foreign exchange (FX) and intercompany transactions
Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English is a must
Possesses excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
Exhibits meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
Capable of prioritizing tasks and working autonomously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Preferred
Experience with accounting software, such as Oracle, Netsuite or SAP, is preferred
Portuguese is desirable
Startup experience is a plus
