Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and repair of automotive, heavy-duty truck, construction equipment, electric vehicles, and buses
Keep city vehicles and equipment in good running order
Return equipment to service quickly and economically
Perform mechanical and electronic repair and maintenance of automobiles, buses, light and heavy-duty trucks, backhoes, tractors, patrol cars, graders, rollers, pumps, hydraulic lifts, sweepers, vactors, various watercraft, lawn & turf equipment, and other assigned equipment
Qualification
Required
AA degree in Automobile/Diesel technology from an accredited school OR a minimum of two (2) years of journey-level knowledge in Automotive/Diesel diagnostics and repair, which includes journey-level experience in Automotive/Diesel diagnostic and repair of equipment
Possession of, or the ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment and maintain thereafter, valid A5, A6, T4, and T6 Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications
Submission to a driving/accident records check
Possession of, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire and maintain thereafter, a valid, unrestricted (except for vision) Washington State Driver License
Possession of, or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire and maintain thereafter, a valid, unrestricted (except for vision) Washington Commercial Driver License (CDL) with the necessary endorsements as prescribed by law Provided by the City
Obtain a City provided forklift certification within six (6) months of hire and maintain thereafter
