Sr. Facilities Engineering Manager
Panasonic Energy is expanding to De Soto, Kansas, where they are building the world’s largest lithium-ion battery factory. The Senior Manager, Facilities Engineering is responsible for managing operational and maintenance activities, ensuring facilities goals are met, and leading teams to achieve excellence in a sustainable transportation environment.

Responsibilities
Drive strategy and direction for the Facilities Engineering team in alignment with organizational vision
Manage functional teams to meet Facilities KPIs and ensure operational excellence
Ensure company resources are applied to sustain safe, high-performing manufacturing operations
Manage ongoing improvements in facilities efficiency through Lean principles and best practices
Drive and support special projects and strategic initiatives across the portfolio
Empower, develop, and reward individuals and teams to foster performance and growth
Lead multi-functional teams in design, estimating, and delivery of expansion projects
Assist with transitioning properties into the portfolio from development or acquisition
Partner with procurement, legal, and leadership to manage contracts, services, and governance
Coordinate with cross-functional teams and leadership to align goals, standards, and customer needs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) or related engineering field
10+ years of experience in operation/engineering of mission critical facilities and infrastructure (design, installation, commissioning, inspection, fire/life safety systems)
Minimum of 8+ years of demonstrated experience as a manager
Ideal candidates will have supported and constructed large facilities, preferably in advanced manufacturing environments
Experience building and supervising a team or department within a multicultural startup environment
Strong technical leadership with excellent organizational and verbal skills
Knowledge of and comfort with Microsoft Office Suite software including Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Ability and proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and presenting technical information to non-technical audiences
Able to manage multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment, effectively prioritize work, and deliver quality results
Self-starter who works well independently and an outstanding ability to follow up with minimal direction by seeking answers and a focus on team success
Able to make appropriate decisions when confronted with obstacles, think about them before acting, and consistently resolve issues in creative and effective ways
A strong work ethic with a “get the job done” approach and consistently delivers excellent customer service, both internally and externally
Intuitive, adaptable, creative, and collaborative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence, advice, and modeled behavior versus micromanagement; excellent interpersonal skills; calm under pressure, able to de-escalate and effectively manage escalations at all levels of the company
A track record of championing speed, flexibility, and frugality in the face of rapid change and extremely heavy workload
Solid understanding of sourcing/procurement, building systems and maintenance, engineering, and customer service
Collaborative nature with strong team building skills and willing to learn from and accept guidance from others
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking
Preferred
12+ years of experience in operation/engineering of mission critical facilities and infrastructure (design, installation, commissioning, inspection, fire/life safety systems)
Minimum of 10+ years of demonstrated experience as a manager
Experience managing multi-discipline projects
Able to respond quickly to potentially critical situations, perform rapid, accurate assessments, identify causes of failures, determine appropriate corrective actions, and implement these corrections promptly to mitigate the effects of system upsets
Proficient with PC hardware and windows-based applications
