Responsibilities
Works under the direction of the Nurse Manager or the Charge Nurse
Timely, efficient communication required, including good phone etiquette
Performs unit tasks in an effective and timely manner
Demonstrates accuracy and efficiency in computer and clerical skills
Gathers and distributes clinical data as assigned
Maintains nurses' station and patient nutrition in an orderly, neat manner
Documents legibly according to hospital policy
Utilizes equipment appropriately (printer, computer, telephone, fax machine, etc.)
Assist with ordering and organization of supplies
Is knowledgeable of and actively participates in implementing the unit PI plan
Follows established hospital/department safety policies
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma/GED
Timely, efficient communication required, including good phone etiquette
Demonstrates accuracy and efficiency in computer and clerical skills
Maintains nurses' station and patient nutrition in an orderly, neat manner
Documents legibly according to hospital policy
Utilizes equipment appropriately (printer, computer, telephone, fax machine, etc.)
Is knowledgeable of and actively participates in implementing the unit PI plan
Follows established hospital/department safety policies
Work requires a variety of physical activities including sitting, standing and walking
Normal hearing or the use of adaptive hearing devices to enhance hearing required
Visual acuity required for a variety of activities
Must be able to sit and utilize PC for long periods of time
Good manual dexterity required for keyboard activities
Ability to do shift work as required
Preferred
Experience with computer and phone systems preferred
