Budget & Financial Analyst
University of Utah is seeking a Budget & Financial Analyst to play a key role in analyzing financial data and supporting strategic decision-making for the Budget Office. The position involves analyzing budgets, providing assistance with departmental budgets, and monitoring expenditures to ensure appropriate spending of allocated funds.

Responsibilities
Develop, analyze, and execute budgets that allocate current resources and estimate future financial requirements
Examine, analyze, and determine profit increases and efficiency improvements
Provide assistance and advice regarding the preparation of organizational and departmental budgets
Analyze department budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls
Consolidate departmental budgets into operating and capital budget summaries
Monitor and review the budget to determine if allocated funds are appropriately spent
Conducts work assignments as directed
Requires basic skill set and proficiency
Closely supervised with little latitude for independent judgment
Conducts work assignments of increasing complexity, under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment
Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline
Conducts complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment
Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree
Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience
Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience

Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree for Budget Analyst, I
Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience for Budget Analyst, II
Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience for Budget Analyst, III
1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience
