Responsibilities
Identify, model, and execute day-ahead virtual bids and offers across PJM, MISO, and ERCOT based on congestion trends, nodal pricing, and fundamentals
Conduct in-depth analysis of transmission constraints, LMP spreads, and topology changes to inform trading decisions
Track and interpret ISO market data, FTR auction results, outage schedules, and regulatory changes affecting market dynamics
Manage virtual trading portfolio with focus on risk-adjusted returns, capital efficiency, and real-time performance tracking
Work closely with FTR traders, analysts, and software developers to refine models, improve forecasts, and build proprietary trading tools
Qualification
Required
2+ years of hands-on experience in virtual trading or congestion trading in PJM, MISO, NY-ISO or ERCOT markets
Strong understanding of ISO/RTO market mechanics, including day-ahead vs. real-time markets, LMP, congestion, and uplift
Proficiency with trading platforms, ISO data portals, and analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Python, SQL, R)
Strong quantitative mindset with ability to work under pressure and make time-sensitive decisions
Familiarity with FTR/TCR markets and auction processes
