Environmental Health & Safety Manager

The EHS Manager will be responsible for developing a safety culture within the distribution center, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and leading safety programs tailored to the organization's needs.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with location management to implement the company’s safety program
Educate and support department managers and team lead(s) in promoting safe work practices and behaviors
Conduct hazard analysis, safety audits, and compliance checks
Develop strategies to raise safety awareness and increase employee engagement
Maintain effective communication with employees, management, contractors, vendors, and external agencies regarding safety issues
Conduct safety orientations for new employees and provide ongoing training to current staff on safety protocols
Oversee fire safety measures, including fire drills, evacuation procedures, and emergency response protocols. Ensure regular inspection and maintenance of fire safety equipment
Manage safety compliance elements related to OSHA and other safety regulations applicable to the site
Lead incident investigations related to employee injuries, near misses, property damage, etc., and ensure completion of corrective actions
Analyze EHS performance data (e.g., injury trends, near misses) and develop metrics for tracking and reporting to plant management
Develop and deliver effective safety education programs to ensure compliance with OSHA standards
Coordinate and lead site safety committees

Required

Bachelor's degree in safety management, environmental or occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field required
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a safety role, preferably in a warehouse or multi-facility environment
In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, CTPAT compliance, physical security, and fire/life safety
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage complex, multi-faceted roles
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities
Must be certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED
OSHA 30-hour Certification required
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 80 pounds
Must be able to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, kneeling, and operating at heights (up to 35 feet) for long periods of time
Must be able to work in a non climate controlled warehouse environment

Preferred

A certificate in safety management (e.g., CSP, ASP) is preferred
Proficiency in using safety management software and MS Office applications
Lean and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus
