Project Portfolio Manager

The Project Portfolio Manager will oversee a portfolio of projects, manage budgets, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with company goals while minimizing risks and maximizing value.

Responsibilities
Oversees a portfolio of projects that align with the company’s goals to deliver maximum value
Manages portfolio budgets (est. $40M annually)
Leads and facilitates the strategic planning and discussion with project stakeholders to define requirements, scope, and objectives that align with the company’s goals while providing expertise on options, risks, costs, and impact on departmental processes
Defines and implements portfolio management processes to support decision-making on investments and process improvements (e.g., pre-project planning, data collection and analysis, prioritization, reporting)
Collaborates with Finance to support labor forecasting on projects and programs within the portfolio
Partners with Finance and business stakeholders to support the planning of capital expenditures, build business justifications for project budgets, backlog management, pre-project planning, investment management, and business relationship activities
Adheres to and controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts
Evaluates investment performance of the portfolio against established goals and objectives in partnership with key stakeholders
Provides project status reports and updates to required stakeholders
Builds contingency plans and assesses project constraints to mitigate risk and implements strategies, as needed
Provides guidance and solutions to manage project crises, challenges, and unexpected events that may impact project success
Delivers effective, engaging, and informative presentations to business partners, investors, and other key stakeholders on project updates and project-related activities
Communicates effectively with external stakeholders to establish and maintain a positive relationship by providing prompt responses, updates, and support
Serves as a change agent guiding teams seamlessly through project changes without disruptions
Drives the adoption of project management best practices and innovative approaches within the company
Identifies opportunities, develops, and implements strategies for continuous improvement
Maintains company reputation by enforcing company values and complying with state and federal regulations
Implements and manages quality assurance processes to ensure consistent project delivery and adherence to industry standards
Manages project progress to ensure team members are effectively carrying out their tasks to ensure project meets codes, standards, timelines, budget requirements, etc
Leads and provides strategic direction to project teams to ensure proper execution of tasks and successful end-to-end completion of project
Drives and synergizes cross-functional collaboration to achieve project goals

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Management, Engineering or related field with 12+ years of project management or planning experience; or
Master's degree in Project Management, Business Management or other related field with 8+ years of project management or planning experience
Prior experience leading capital or construction projects
Experience utilizing project plans, risk mitigation strategies, and improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma or Agile)
Experience working in a cGMP manufacturing facilities
Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, etc
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time up to 120 minutes
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time up to 120 minutes
Ability to conduct activities using repetitive motions that include writs, hands and/or fingers
Ability to bend, push or pull, reach to retrieve materials from 18” to 60” in height, and use twisting motions
Will work in warm/cold environments between 0-115 F
Will work in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind
Preferred
Large scale capital project experience, >$500M USD
Experience interpreting complicated product documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) with attention to high-level concepts
Experience creating work plans and detailed project schedules
Experience using schedule software (e.g., Primavera (P6))
