Responsibilities
Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing in the assigned sections of the laboratory
Monitor technicians and other non independent practitioners
Use independent judgement and knowledge
Lead CLS for the assigned section under administrative direction responsible for maintenance of policies, procedures and quality control practices
Provide management and accreditation support
Provide for a self-directed team approach to a customer driven service initiative
Qualification
Required
B.S. degree preferred
Graduation from an approved school of medical technology
State of California Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
ASCP or equivalent desired
Meets state and federal requirements for supervising the performance of high complexity laboratory testing as outlined in CLIA 88 and the State Title for Laboratories
Six years as a registered technologist in an acute care hospital
Phlebotomy, basic medical terminology, typing, math and computer skills
Ability to work independently
Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in the following age groups: Geriatric, Adult, Young Adult, Pediatric and Neonatal
Demonstrates the True North values
Preferred
Advanced certification in section assigned preferred
